candle light, coffee, and conversation

the start of my summer [twenty ten style]

what can i say about tonight, other than it was probably the most uplifting and relaxing night of my life? painting... a picture... with a friend that you have long forgotten about. it was so exciting to revive a friendship that had been gone for so long. "just make a mess." a mess of colors, paintbrushes, and ideas, sprawled all over the bare wooden floor. then we listened to a playlist with-holding songs that especially reminded him of me. we talked and talked until our legs needed some breathing room. outside we went, wandering aimlessly down negated pathways, catching fireflies as we walked, talked, and laughed about nothing. the light breeze brushed against our cheeks and we danced beneath the billowing clouds. then, we balanced on railroad tracks, seeing who could stay up the longest. i believe i won. [actually, i know i did] we kicked up loose rocks and cobblestone encased within the rusty tracks, and scurried back to the few lights we could see in the distance. the fireflies twirled and frolicked on both sides of the road. we made it back to brew some delicious costa rican coffee, with a half cup milk and white sugar. we talked over candlelight about what we're going to do for the rest of our lives, and enjoyed a hearty bowl of fruit and yogurt. by merely three in the morning, i hurried on home and sang some mumford and sons, the new soundtrack to my summer.

the inspiration ^^

the masterpiece ^^

taylor evan!

the painting that started it all.

"paint a rainbow inside of you. paint a rainbow, let your smile shine through; when it's cold and gray, push the clouds away. paint a rainbow for me in your heart." ♥
